The Renewal of Vows of Alison Else and Keith Maher at Gloria Palace Royal

Wednesday 24th March 2010

Alison and Keith travelled for Ireland to Gran Canaria to renew their vows with Alison’s Parents and their two young children Zack and Josh.

Keith and the guests waited on the terrace for the arrival of Alison, the new wedding and celebration terrace at Gloria Palace Royal looked stunning, with its dressed chairs with blue bows and the central aisle had red carpets.

Alison arrived at Gloria Palace Royal in a chauffeured driven BMW Series  5 accompanied by her mother and was presented with a large bouquet of Ivory and Gold roses on arrival. She then made her way to the terrace where she had photographs taken before walking down the aisle accompanied by her 5 year old Son , Josh, as the song –“in  a country church Yard” was played.

Alison was dressed in Gold off the shoulder dress with matching bodice and had her hair and make-up done by Sarah and Ang of GC Weddings.

The welcome was given by the Revd Paul Burrows-Gibson on behalf of Gloria Palace Hotels and GC Weddings before the personalised ceremony commenced. The ceremony involved all of the family and was full of love and romance. Halfway through the ceremony, the couple reflected on their time together as “a groovy time of love” was played, before the signing of the certificate of Renewal.

As the ceremony drew to a close, somewhere over the rainbow was played as it has special memories for the couple.

Champagne was served on the terrace of the hotel before photographs were taken. The resident Photographer- Mr Mos then took the couple to Anfi for additional photographs before returning to the hotel.

The couple then sat down for a meal from the a la carte menu overlooking the sea, before rounding off their day with entertainment in the Bar Salon. A perfect end to a perfect day

 

 

 

 

The Wedding of Helen and Ronny. 23rd March 2010 Gloria Palace Amadores

The Wedding of Helen and Ronny from Norway took place at the Norwegian Church in Arguineguin on a warm afternoon. Following the ceremony, the couple had photographs taken before returning to Gloria Palace Amadores for further photographs in the gardens of the hotel.

The Guests then gathered on the restaurant terrace overlooking the sea, for a Champagne Reception with an assortment of canapés.

The couple and their guests sat down on the terrace, that had been laid out in a new style and enjoyed a dinner of melon with Parma Ham, Fillet Mignon with Seasonal Vegetables, Roasted potatoes and served with a peppercorn Sauce followed by Fresh Fruit Cocktail.

In line with Norwegian Tradition, each course included a speech from family members, a song and then the banging of spoons to encourage the couple to kiss!

Following more speeches the traditional Norwegian Wedding Cake was cut by the couple and followed with speeches by the Bride’s Sister and then the Groom

Helen and Ronny, then cut the chocolate wedding cake before sitting down to enjoy Coffee and Cognac. The speeches drew to a close with more singing.

The couple and their family from Norway then moved to the Bar Salon where they continued their celebrations with singing and dancing into the night and then retired to their suites at the hotel to prepare for the continuing celebrations the next morning

The Wedding of Paul and Mark at Havana, Gloria Palace San Agustin  13th March 2010

Paul and Mark had their civil wedding in Maspalomas in front of the Mayors representative at the council offices the day before their religious wedding that was held on the brand new Havana Terrace at Gloria Palace San Agustin.

The day started with the arrival of Mark Burrows and he processed down the stunning aisle accompanied by Helen and Joel and his best woman –Sra Helena Cullen, to Clarke’s Trumpet Voluntary, and moved down the aisle to the dais with a floral arch and altar. Over 100 guests from hotels and tourism across the island were joined by family and friends from the UK and Gran Canaria were seated either side of the aisle on dressed chairs. The adjoining pool had floating floral decorations and candles.

Paul Gibson arrived, accompanied by two best men, D. Ignacio Casteleiro Cullen and D. Dailos Rodriguez and also Martin and Karen Goode, processed down the aisle to the Bridal March from the Sound of Music.

Revd Terry McGuire from the Progressive Christian Alliance in America had flown from Florida to conduct the ceremony, which was especially written for the occasion by Paul and mark. The First reading was given by Genna D’Cruz of Canary Island News on the theme of the Art of Marriage, the service continued with a reading from Corinthians 13 read by Mr Gordon Burrows {Mark’s Father}, An Irrational Reason was read by Indra from Abogados Casteleiro, and Lee Cook from GC weddings read from a wedding blessing.

Paul and Mark exchanged personally written vows in front of all of the guests before the sermon was preached. The service had intervals of musical reflection. Paul and Mark exchanged rings of White Gold each with a single diamond in the centre and these were designed and made especially by Paraiso Jewellers in Puerto Mogan

The service ended with music from Widor’s Toccata and Fugue.

The champagne and canapés reception was served on the lower Havana Terrace much to the enjoyment of the guests, whilst the first of many photographs were taken by Mr Moss and video recordings also taken.

Following photographs, the guests gathered on the terrace where the tables were fully dressed enhanced by some magnificent floral displays for an amazing Hot and Cold Buffet menu prepared by the chefs from the hotels and accompanied by quality wines and beers.

Following the cutting of the cake, the speeches were given by the couple and the best men before the evening’s entertainment began with a performance by Justin Hughes with songs from Michael Buble, the Platters and Barry White. This was followed by the first full cabaret of the evening from the fabulous Miss Kitty Monroe, who had all the guests singing and laughing with her unique and special show, brought to Gran Canaria straight from London.

International Irish Entertainer, John Brogan then continued the celebrations with his show, which had everyone singing and dancing and raised the roof. The celebrations continued with dancing on the terrace before the couple retired to the Bridal Suite after a truly special, unique and memorable celebration of their marriage.

Thursday 11th March 2010 The Wedding of Helen and Joel at Gloria Palace Royal

The wedding took place on the Kaia Terrace of Gloria Palace Royal following a Civil Wedding of Helen Peters and Joel McNeilly from Northern Ireland. Helen looked stunning in an off the shoulder full length wedding dress with a small train and veil with a tiara. Her make up and nails were done by Ang and Sarah from GC Weddings. Helen walked down the red-carpeted aisle onto the terrace with dressed chairs with blue bows where she met Joel who was dressed in an evening suit with white waistcoat and tie. The ceremony was conducted by Revd Paul and was especially written for the couple and their family.

Following the ceremony, Champagne and canapés were served on the terrace with views across Amadores Beach whilst photographs were taken in the grounds of the hotel and on a nearby beach.

The dinner was served in the Kaia restaurant overlooking the sea and the couples chosen menu was deep fried soft cheese with a raspberry sauce, Sirloin Steak with a Peppercorn sauce and a selection of Royale Desserts accompanied by a selection of wines and champagne. The wedding cake was made by the hotel and was stunning.

Following the dinner, the evening continued with dancing in the restaurant before the couple retired to the bridal suite to round off their special day.


Monday 1
st March 2010   The Blessing of Rico and Christina Jenson at Patalavaca

Rico and Christina came from Denmark for their special and memorable celebration in Gran Canaria.

The couple were collected from their accommodation at Altamar in Puerto Rico and driven in a brand new BMW Series 5 to the garden venue in Patalavaca for their ceremony overlooking the sea. Rico was dressed in a dark grey suit with Ivory tie and wore a white button hole. Christina looked stunning in an ivory ankle length dress with an embroidered bodice and carried a large bouquet of Purple mixed flowers.

During the ceremony that was written especially for them, they made a life long commitment to each other and exchanged rings made of yellow and white gold inscribed with the date of the ceremony and location.

Following the ceremony, the couple shared glasses of champagne overlooking the sea, before having photographs taken in the gardens.

Rico and Christina then enjoyed a meal in a local restaurant to round off what a perfect and memorable day in Gran Canaria.



Wednesday 10th February 2010 The Wedding of Kit and Amy Andrew at San Agustin Beach Club 

 

Kit and Amy flew in from Detroit, USA for their ceremony organised by Gran Canaria Weddings and Celebrations SL after hearing about us and the quality of the services offered. The ceremony took place in the gardens of San Agustin Beach Club www.sanagustinbeachclub-weddings.com during the late afternoon. Kit looked stunning in his white tuxedo and ivory waistcoat and tie, black trousers and his shoes had “just married” imprinted on the soles. Amy made her entrance down the Marble Staircase into the grounds of the hotel and work an off the shoulder white wedding dress encrusted with diamante and with a small bustle and train. Her hair and makeup enhanced the dress further thanks to Ang and Sarah from GC Weddings and carrying a bouquet of Ivory roses. The ceremony was conducted in the Pagoda and was one full of love and romance, the couple were able to relax and enjoy the ceremony. Following the ceremony, photographs were taken in the grounds of the hotel by Mr Mos accompanied by champagne and then on the beach at San Agustin. The celebrations continued as the couple were taken to the Chill Out Terrace of Gloria Palace San Agustin www.gloria-palace-weddings.com for cocktails and then they sat down to a candlelit dinner of fresh lobster in the Gorbera Restaurant with its scenic views across the island to bring their romantic and memorable day to a close.

30th Birthday Celebration for Maria Talbot and Friends from Dublin, Ireland

Maria and her friends flew in from Ireland at 5pm for a special celebration to mark a 30th Birthday and asked Gran Canaria Weddings and Celebrations to organise an unforgettable evening for them. They were collected from the airport by a luxury mini-bus and taken to their accommodation in Maspalomas, allowing them time to chill out and refresh themselves, before their big night out.

They were collected from their hotel in a silver Cadillac and taken on a scenic tour of the area before arriving at San Agustin Beach Club where they were welcomed by the staff of the hotel and the events team at GC Weddings. After taking in the breathtaking location, they took their places at the reserved table on the terrace overlooking the sea, and ordered their meals from the outstanding menu that is offered at San Agustin Beach Club. 

Following the meal, the staff brought out a birthday cake designed by the chef of the hotel accompanied by the waiters.

The celebrations continued when the group moved to Playa Del Ingles to party the night away in true Irish Style, before enjoying two more days of activities on the Island

Friday 15th January 2010 Commitment Ceremony of Merton and Scarlett Nygert at Anfi

Merton from Denmark and Scarlett from Nicuagra contact Gran Canaria Weddings 7 days before their arrival in Gran Canaria asking for a blessing of the love that they share together, with their parents and family present. We organised a three venue ceremony and reception for them within their small budget and requirements with stunning result.

The family gathered in front of the altar for the ceremony and waited for Scarlett to arrive. She was given away by her 10year old Stepson, Magnus and her Bridesmaid was her Step-daughter Camilla. Scarlett looked stunning in her off the shoulder elegant wedding dress and veil in the Spanish Style and carried a bouquet of white and purple roses.

Merton was dressed in a white suite with a black and gold waist coat and Panama hat, and looked the dashing groom as he waited for his bride to arrive. They had chosen Mendelssohn’s Wedding March for their opening music and there were gasps of delight as Scarlett made her way down the grass aisle to meet her beau at the Altar.

The ceremony was conducted by the Revd Paul Gibson of St Sebastian’s Inclusive Church and opened with a traditional introduction to marriage before moving onto a host of romantic readings to set the theme for the ceremony.

During the emotional exchange of vows, there wasn’t a dry eye as they both made a dedicated lasting commitment to each other.

Following the ceremony, Mos took photographs with the couple and their family before they headed off to the Jetty on the Marina, where we have a boat waiting for everyone and provided Sushi and a cold buffet served with champagne. They left for an hour’s cruising around the coast before returning to Anfi for more photographs. They then moved to the Indian Restaurant and to the music of Barry White they made their entrance. After chilling out for a while, they then sat down to a sumptuous meal overlooking the Marina.

Paul, Mos, Lee and Sandy, what you did for us was amazing, everything was perfect from start to finish and we couldn’t have wished for more. We will definitely be telling all our friends about you and will see you next time to renew our vows    Regard    Merton and Scarlett
